Deep Cover

Orlando Bloom and Bryce Dallas Howard lead this London heist comedy for the modern age

Date
June 4

Tom Kingsley’s greatly entertaining comedy sees Bryce Dallas Howard as Kat, an improv teacher whose career has stalled before she found any real success. Timing, then, could not have been more perfect when an undercover cop knocks on her door offering her the role of a lifetime: playing a disguised agent to infiltrate London’s dangerous gang underground. In Deep Cover, Kat enlists the help of two of her students-slash-hopefuls (Orlando Bloom and Ted Lasso’s Nick Mohammed) to embark on an undercover adventure that will send the trio into a whirlwind of car chases, action-filled fights, and elaborate backstories as they try to bring the dangerous underground gangs of London to justice.

Director

Hello, I’m Tom Kingsley and I direct comedy, drama and comedy-drama. Amongst other things, I have a BAFTA and a cat that went viral.

For TV, I’ve directed This is Going to Hurt, Stath Lets Flats, and Ghosts, all of which were nominated for at least one BAFTA, and then won between six and zero BAFTAs. Last year, I made a special 60th Anniversary episode of Doctor Who, which Empire called “an instant classic… one of 2023’s finest hours of TV”.

Latest news: I’m directing a TV series for Disney. Oldest news: I’ve co-directed two feature films with Will Sharpe, the first of which - Black Pond - won the Evening Standard’s Best Newcomer award, and the second of which - The Darkest Universe - didn’t.
