SXSW London is Back. 24–29 May 2027
SXSW London is the festival for discovering what comes next in technology, culture and business. For six days in May, founders, filmmakers, marketers, investors, artists and policymakers share one walkable campus in Shoreditch.
It is a festival, not a summit. A conversation that starts on a conference stage carries on into film premieres, music showcases and parties across the neighbourhood's warehouses, cinemas, clubs and yards.
For 40 years, SXSW has been the place to access new work, new ideas and the next leaders of industry first. SXSW London brings that to Europe.
SXSW: South by Southwest
SXSW started in Austin, Texas, in 1987 and still happens there every March. For four decades it has given a stage to talent, technology and ideas before the next leap.
Billie Eilish played SXSW before her debut album. Twitter won the SXSW Web Award in 2007 and went mainstream within a year. Airbnb launched there in 2008. Everything Everywhere All At Once premiered at SXSW a year before it won seven Oscars. Greg Brockman of OpenAI spoke on the SXSW stage four days before GPT-4 launched.
Other events report on their own industry. SXSW is where the next thing in every industry shows up first.
SXSW London launched in June 2025 with 25,327 festivalgoers across 34 venues. Two editions in, it has a record of its own. Michelle Obama, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, Demis Hassabis and Brian Eno chose its stages. Pixar, LEGO and Waymo gave London audiences a first look at new work. Tems and Erykah Badu played after dark. Sasha Keable played SXSW London before she played Glastonbury.
In 2026, one Festival Pass gave access to 863 speakers, 353 sessions, 256 artists across 18 venues, 100 screenings and 13 premieres. Festivalgoers from 97 countries made more than 19,500 connections. By day, 167 mentors, 25 roundtables and over 50 meet-ups put them in the room with the founders, investors and decision-makers they came to meet. More than half of them were founders or directors.
SXSW London: South by Southwest London
SXSW London puts technology, culture and business in the same week and the same place. Technology and culture are where the new comes from. Business is who acts on it. Keeping all three on one campus is the point, because the next opportunity in your industry often arrives from outside it.
We believe culture drives progress. Technology reshapes our world. Different perspectives create better futures. And human connection matters more than ever.
The festival is built into the streets and yards of Shoreditch, east London's home for new ideas. By day, seven stages and 14 conference tracks, with workshops, pitches, mentoring and roundtables across the site. By night, premieres, showcases and parties, all within walking distance. One pass covers day and night.
