Based on Paris Lees’s acclaimed eponymous memoir, this eight-part series takes us right back to the height of Y2K in a small working-class town where we meet Byron, a resourceful 15-year-old who can’t quite match their big city ambitions with their contained, conservative surroundings. One night, the teen escapes into Nottingham’s bustling nightlife, meeting a spike-haired bad boy and eventually finding a group of like-minded friends who will change their life forever. What It Feels Like For a Girl is at once riotous and tenderhearted in its encompassing of the rollercoaster that is searching for identity and belonging.
