Laurence Walker is a music programmer and promoter from Bristol, now based in London, working in the DIY and grassroots space. He is programmer at Colour Factory and a curator for festivals including Glastonbury and Show of Hands. With over a decade of experience booking club shows and festival stages across jazz, club sounds and global music, he has supported many young promoters to scale their events. Ask him about booking and artist relations, developing curatorial vision, programming lineups, venue relationships, audience growth, budgeting, logistics, and building sustainable grassroots networks.
Information for mentees:
- In order to book a session with one of our mentors, please download the SXSW London app.
- Please arrive 5 minutes early to check in for your mentor session. Late arrivals (anyone not present at the start of their booked session) may lose their slot to a walk-up attendee.
- If a session is fully booked, you’re welcome to try as a walk-up in case a booked attendee doesn’t attend.
- We would recommend preparing a brief introduction about yourself, along with any specific questions or areas you’d like guidance on from your mentor.
