Roundtables are topic-led, small-group discussions hosted by our Leads, offering an intimate, peer-to-peer space where participants of all levels — including beginners — can engage, learn, and exchange ideas more directly.
The session will be structured around three main themes for discussion:
1. Trust:Explores the factors that genuinely earn trust in AI (accuracy, transparency, brand, design), how AI should communicate uncertainty, and whether users prioritise explanations or reliable outcomes.
2. How human should AI feel?: Debates the ideal persona for AI (a person, a tool, or something new). It questions the inherent trustworthiness of abstract text-based agents versus increasingly realistic voice and video agents, and asks if the Uncanny Valley is a barrier to overcome, or a boundary to respect.
3. Design Ethics: Addresses the morality of designing AI to seem more capable than it is, the potential conflict between trust and design choices that optimize for engagement/charm, and the ethics of fixed versus dynamic AI personalities.
