Joe Spisak is the VP of Product & Head of Open Source at Reflection, where he drives product innovation and open-source initiatives. Previously, he served as a Product Director in Meta’s Superintelligence Labs (MSL), leading product efforts across PyTorch, the Llama open-source initiative, and Meta’s Agentic platform. With over a decade of experience in building AI platforms, Joe has held leadership roles at Meta, Google, and Amazon.
At Meta, he played a pivotal role in making PyTorch the world’s leading open-source AI framework, guiding its transition to the Linux Foundation in collaboration with industry leaders. Joe also led the Llama open-source initiative, enhancing accessibility to cutting-edge models and empowering the community to scale AI in an open and collaborative manner.
In addition to his work at Reflection, Joe is an active angel investor and advisor to early-stage startups focused on frontier AI systems, open models, and developer tools. He enjoys helping founders navigate product-market fit, technical strategy, and community growth, particularly those who share a vision for openness and long-term ecosystem impact.
