Marc has a background in life sciences and machine learning, with a masters in biochemistry from ETH Zürich and a phd in applied machine learning from the University of Oxford. During his time in oxford, Marc co-founded The Oxford Venture Capital Network, deepening the connection between the growing startup ecosystem at Oxford and the wider UK venture capital industry, later transitioning into VC by joining London-based pre-seed investor creator fund as one of the first investment partners. There, he led many of the fund's investments into deeptech, AI and life science startups across the UK and Europe.
Before joining redalpine, marc helped build chemify, a UK-based AI chemistry scale-up, from inception as the Chief of Staff and Director of Business Development. At Chemify, Marc worked closely with the CEO & Founder to raise >$40M in funding, scale the team to over 60 employees, and led the company's business development efforts, closing multiple commercial biotech partnerships.
