Matthew Saltmarsh

Matthew Saltmarsh ischief spokesperson at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, in Geneva. He previously worked for UNHCR in communications in London, and Lebanon, covering the Middle East. Before joining the UN, he worked independently as a consultant for corporate and institutional clients on content creation, media training and communications. Matthew has also worked as a journalist, and spent eight years, latterly as a Staff Correspondent, at the New York Times in Paris. He has worked in various locations in Europe and Asia as a reporter and editor. His journalism has appeared in a variety of global publications. He was educated in the UK, Africa, Hong Kong and Japan.
