As CEO of FORTA, Dr. Omran Al-Kuwari brings over 25 years of international leadership across energy, sustainability, climate tech, investment, and education. Before joining FORTA, he served as CEO of Qatar Foundation International, driving major global partnerships and initiatives.
He also led QF’s climate-tech venture-building and investment program with Rolls-Royce, bridging innovation ecosystems between the UK and Qatar. A published author of “The Future of Liquified Natural Gas in a Decarbonising World” (2025), he has held leadership roles in government and industry with Qatargas, ExxonMobil, and GreenGulf.
Dr. Al-Kuwari serves on several boards, including FORTA portfolio companies, and advises Parkway Venture Capital and McKinsey & Co’s Global Sustainability Council. He is a non-resident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council and holds a PhD from University College London, where he is also an honorary senior research fellow.
