EMERGING TALENT MANAGEMENT - INDEPENDENT A&R - COMMUNITY BUILDING IN MUSIC
PJ Somervelle is a London-based music manager and independent A&R who is passionate about grassroots UK R&B and Soul, UK Rap, Pop and Alternative music. His principal management client is the genre-blending alternative-Pop artist Berry Galazka.
An advocate for artist development and wellbeing in the industry. Having trained as a Social Worker and worked in the charity sector for most of his career, he found a creative outlet during the Pandemic, writing for cultural publications such as New Wave Magazine and music blogs like Clash and the Line of Best Fit. Realising that his passion was spotlighting emerging and independent creatives and artists as well as sharing knowledge and opportunities, he quickly grew into an executive keen to bring meaningful change to an outdated and unequal system.
PJ is a member of the Music Manager’s Forum, MOBO Awards voting member and has worked with incredible grassroots music organisations such as iLuvLive, Cre8ing Vision and Limitless Live.

Information for mentees:
- Please arrive 5 minutes early to check in for your mentor session. Late arrivals (anyone not present at the start of their booked session) may lose their slot to a walk-up attendee.
- If a session is fully booked, you’re welcome to try as a walk-up in case a booked attendee doesn’t attend.
- We would recommend preparing a brief introduction about yourself, along with any specific questions or areas you’d like guidance on from your mentor.
