As someone who grew up loving film, Ramin has written cover stories on everyone from Ryan Coogler to Nicole Kidman to Leonardo DiCaprio. He’s won many awards for his investigations and longform profiles about Hollywood, and in 2018, he was named Entertainment Journalist of the Year by the Los Angeles Press Club.
Among tentpole franchises at Variety, Ramin oversees the magazine's Young Hollywood issue, Power of Women, the New York issue and Actors on Actors; and he's the showrunner of the Emmy-winning Actors on Actors video series that airs on CNN. He’s the author of two New York Times best-selling books: 2019's "Ladies Who Punch," an inside look at the ABC daytime talk show "The View," created by Barbara Walters; and 2024's "Apprentice in Wonderland," where he extensively interviewed Donald Trump about how reality TV shapes how he governs as president of the United States.
Ramin graduated from Stanford University. He lives in New York.
