Technology as an Instrument: Inside the AI Workflows of the World's Biggest Producers, Mixers, and DJs.

Every major shift in music has been defined by a new instrument, from the synthesizer to the sampler, and now AI. The technology has rapidly become part of modern music production, but much of the public conversation still focuses on fear and speculation rather than how artists and producers are actually using it every day.

This session moves beyond sensational headlines to explore how creators are integrating AI into real workflows, where the technology genuinely adds value, and why many of the world’s top artists and producers increasingly view AI as a creative instrument rather than a replacement for human artistry. Hosted by Ryan Merchant of Moises, the music platform used by more than 75 million musicians, the conversation features two of the most respected voices in modern music.

Manny Marroquin is an 18-time Grammy-winning mixing engineer whose work appears on 250 million albums, including projects by Taylor Swift, Post Malone, Rihanna, Ed Sheeran, and The Weeknd. Laidback Luke is one of dance music’s most influential pioneers, with a career spanning more than two decades as a DJ, producer, educator, and early adopter of production and performance technology, with hundreds of remix credits for artists including Daft Punk, Madonna, Jay-Z, Maroon 5, and Pharrell.

Attendees will gain firsthand insight into how AI is being used at the highest levels of music today, hear candid perspectives on creativity and authenticity, and leave with a clearer view of where the technology is genuinely earning its place in the studio.
