Caroline Meaby is Head of Programmes & Engagement at OKRE, the entertainment impact charity that connects creatives, academic researchers and people with lived experience to develop storytelling that deepens public understanding on the big issues of our time. At OKRE, she works across partnerships, creative development and industry engagement, helping to support entertainment projects that combine social impact with compelling storytelling.  OKRE has provided funding and development support to a number offilms which have used creative collaboration to explore challenging topics, such as‘My Blonde GF’, which explored the psychological effects of deepfake pornography.

Caroline is currently overseeing a range of initiatives including ‘Laughing Matters’, which explores how humour can help audiences engage with climate and health issues in fresh, accessible and emotionally resonant ways. This work has included creative collaboration support to the sitcom “Twenty Twenty Six” (BBC).


Caroline has had over 20 years’ experience working in and with the creative industries. After a decade in production at the BBC, she moved into heading up programmes and partnerships at organisations including the Edinburgh TV Festival and British Council Arts, where she oversaw a diverse portfolio of international collaboration projects involving professionals from across the arts and creative industries.
