Whose Intelligence Is It, Anyway?

The generative AI programs that make music, visual and other kinds of creative works stand on the shoulders of giants – the human creators whose works software companies used to train their algorithms. Since training any kind of software involved mass-scale copying of creative works, it’s these companies may have infringed copyright on the same scale. That question is now in court.
