Join us in the final Happy Hour of the 2026 Screen festival hosted by illuminatrix and illuminatrix Rising; a UK-based collective of professional female cinematographers (Directors of Photography). It is a prominent advocacy and community organisation working to increase the visibility and opportunities of women in cinematography, both in the UK and internationally.
The original idea conceived in a pub is now a who’s who of prolific cinematographers working in the international film industry. Credits including - Bridget Jones - Edge of Reason, The Woman King, Baby Reindeer, The Handmaid's Tale, Bridgerton, Ted Lasso, House of Dragons, Silo, Severance, Peaky Blinders, The Last of Us, Russian Doll to name a few!
Launched in 2016, the illuminatrix collective exists as both a public platform to promote and celebrate its members' work and a private network for members to support one another and share knowledge and resources. Illuminatrix aims to increase gender parity in the role of the cinematographer, which statistically and historically has always been male. Rising was formed in 2017 to promote emerging talent.
