Steve is a senior barrister (Kings Counsel) at 39 Essex Chambers. He has acted in many of the most significant cases in the fields of children's rights and disability rights, including in the Supreme Court and the European Court on Human Rights. He is currently representing a coalition of charities in Module 8 of the Covid-19 inquiry, looking at the impact of the pandemic on children and young people. Steve is the co-author of 'Disabled Children: A Legal Handbook' and 'Making Lawful Decisions' (both published by Legal Action Group).
