Daniel Pemberton is an Academy Award-nominated and Ivor Novello-winning British composer and songwriter widely celebrated as one of the most innovative, genre-defying voices in modern cinema.
Pemberton routinely avoids traditional arrangements in favour of custom-built instruments, found objects, and experimental soundscapes.
After beginning his prolific career at just 16 years old with his ambient album Bedroom, he scored iconic British television like Peep Show before transitioning to major feature films. Breakthrough collaborations with legendary directors Ridley Scott (The Counselor), Danny Boyle (Steve Jobs), and Aaron Sorkin (The Trial of the Chicago 7) quickly cemented his status at Abbey Road Studios, while his hip-hop and punk-infused soundscapes for the Spider-Man: Spider-Verse franchise earned him global fan-favourite status.
Currently navigating a blockbuster year, Pemberton has recently delivered the highly anticipated, organic sci-fi score for Phil Lord and Chris Miller's epic Project Hail Mary, utilizing tactile and experimental acoustic sounds to capture its alien environments. Alongside this, he composed the music for Kristoffer Borgli’s A24 romantic comedy The Drama, starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, and continues to provide the espionage themes for Apple TV+'s hit series Slow Horses.
Looking ahead, he is finishing a massive score for Travis Knight’s upcoming fantasy epic Masters of the Universe, which features a collaboration with legendary Queen guitarist Brian May on the lead track "Eternia."
