Hilary Strong is the Chief Executive Officer of John Gore Studios, where she guides the studios’ strategic growth and commercial vision, leveraging 35 years of leadership in TV, film, and literary IP. Known for her strategic vision and innovative approach, Hilary has consistently driven growth and creative transformation within major international organisations.
John Gore Studios is redefining film and television through a dual focus on heritage and innovation. Acquiring, restoring, and reintroducing iconic film libraries, such as the Hammer library, while developing bold contemporary stories with global reach and lasting cultural impact. The studio’s film slate for 2026 include major features films: The Return of Stanley Atwell (starring Nicholas Galitzine, Ella Purnell and Damian Lewis), My Duchess (dir. Mike Newell, starring Joan Collins and Isabella Rossellini), The Queen of Fashion (starring Andrea Riseborough), Frank and Percy (starring Ian McKellen and Roger Allam) and Onward and Sideways (dir. John Madden, starring Rhys Ifans and Laura Linney), all of which Hilary has executive produced. The fully integrated studio brings together film libraries, IP, development, production, restoration, sales and distribution and most recently costumes, achieved through an accelerated acquisition programme, which started in early 2025.
Previous roles include CEO of Agatha Christie Ltd, transforming the business into a multi-platform powerhouse spanning film, television, publishing, and stage, brokering landmark BBC and Fox deals and exec producing Murder on the Orient Express; Co-founder and CEO of International Literary Properties, leading the acquisition of more than 20 high-value literary estates; and 14 years as Commercial Director and General Counsel for Hat Trick Productions.
Hilary holds an MA in Law from Cambridge, is a member of the BAFTA Commercial Committee, a director of the National Film and Television School, and Chair of global comedy theatre business, Mischief Worldwide.
