Kanishka Narayan is the MP for the Vale of Glamorgan, and Minister for AI and Online Safety. His career spans public service, technology, and finance, with experience across Silicon Valley, the UK government, and the City of London. In government, Kanishka served as a Senior Adviser in the UK Cabinet Office and as an Expert Adviser to Britain’s Environment Secretary, focusing on domestic policy and climate strategy. He also led technology policy for the Labour Party’s frontbench. In business, he has advised and invested in climate and fintech start-ups across Europe and the United States. Previously, he worked at Lazard, advising corporate boards, sovereign finance ministries, and start-up founders. Born in India and raised in South Wales, Kanishka went on to study at the University of Oxford and Stanford University. He is passionate about advocating for the UK to position itself as a global leader in technology and innovation—leveraging growth to strengthen communities, restore dignity, and create opportunity for all.
