Rachel Young is the founder of Nuovo, which helps music industry leaders make smarter product and commercial decisions.
Previously Head of Product, Distribution and Monetisation at TikTok/ByteDance, where she built music monetisation products used over 6 billion times and scaled distribution service SoundOn to 1.1 million artist users.
Earlier in her career, she spent four years at Instrumental, the music technology company using data science and machine learning to fuel label growth. Within its label team, FRTYFVE, she developed a bespoke distribution platform and contributed to three UK No.1 singles.
Through Nuovo, she works directly with founders and operators to make sharper decisions, avoid expensive mistakes, and unblock the high-stakes challenges that determine whether a music business survives its own early stages.
Her current focus sits at the boundary of music rights infrastructure and the emerging frameworks being built around AI and music data, a space she thinks is still asking the wrong questions, which is usually a sign something interesting is about to happen.
