Yungen’s journey into music began as a teenager, but it was his 2011 freestyle video on SB.TV that first garnered him significant attention
His 2014 project Project Black & Red, featuring Stormzy, Wretch 32, and Krept and Konan, earned him a MOBO Award nomination for Best Newcomer in 2015 and secured him a record deal with Sony RCA. His biggest commercial moment came in 2017 with “Bestie” featuring Yxng Bane — the track peaked at No. 10 on the UK Singles Chart, reached No. 2 on the UK Hip Hop & R&B Chart, and was certified Platinum by the BPI
That same year, he was featured on Steel Banglez’s “Bad” alongside MoStack, Mr Eazi, and Not3s, which climbed to No. 29 on the UK Singles Chart and also went Platinum. His 2018 collaboration “Mind on It” with Jess Glynne peaked at No. 47, while “Comfortable” featuring Dappy (2019) reached No. 32 and earned a Silver BPI certification. His earlier single “Take My Number” featuring Angel was also certified Silver by the BPI. Across his career, Yungen has accumulated 1 Top 10 hit, 3 Top 40 singles
