Afrin, known professionally as modernotaku, is an independent musician, singer, DJ, and multidisciplinary artist from Dhaka, Bangladesh. She first gained recognition through online covers, particularly her rendition of “Jontrona,” before performing with her band False Cassette and later focusing on her solo career. Her recent work includes “Long Distance Love” with Coke Studio Bangla and the hit song “Bhul Shomoy,” featured in a film directed by Nuhash Humayun. Alongside music, she has built a strong independent online presence through her self-directed digital storytelling.
