Adrian Sibley

Director

Adrian Sibley is a renowned director and producer of documentary films. His work includes the feature documentary The Ghost of Richard Harris for Screen Ireland and Sky Arts which had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival and won best documentary at the Newport Beach and Fort Lauderdale Film Festivals. The film was also shortlisted for the 2023 Best Documentary BAFTA Film Awards and nominated for the George Morrison Feature Documentary Award at the IFTA Awards as well as for Best Arts programme at the RTS Awards.

Adrian also made Richard Burton: Wild Genius for the BBC which recently won the Gold Tower in the biography category for this year’s New York Festival Awards. He directed Stopping Time, a short film with legendary dancer Lindsay Kemp who taught both David Bowie and Kate Bush. He has worked with photographer Sir Don McCullin twice on The Road to Palmyra through war torn Syria and Looking for England for the BBC as were his films The Kate Bush Story: Running Up That Hill and the BAFTA winning The Show Must Go On with director Baz Luhrmann. He has also collaborated with Chris Packham twice on Forever Punk for the BBC and Is it Time to Break the Law? about climate activism for Channel 4 which won the best documentary at the Critical Awards.

Adrian was executive producer on Misha and The Wolves, a Netflix feature documentary which was co-produced with Met Films through his company Bright Yellow Films as well as on Levison Wood’s Discovery series Arabia and Generation Grime for Sky. He was the second unit director on Still Crazy and has written scripts for Nicole Kidman and Gary Oldman. He is currently developing two movies with producer Gaby Tana who was Oscar nominated for Philomena and produced the feature documentary Dancer.
