Rechoreographing Ballet: Music, Film, Tech and the Future of Movement

What happens when one of the world’s oldest art forms collides with the future?

Bringing together voices from dance, music, film and technology, this session explores how ballet and contemporary movement are being reshaped through experimentation, collaboration and immersive new forms of storytelling. From AI-driven performance and vocal innovation to VR, projection, digital staging and screen-based choreography, the conversation examines how movement is evolving far beyond the traditional stage.

Featuring dance producer Farooq Chaudhry - whose work on Akram Khan’s Giselle helped pioneer immersive technologies in ballet - alongside Reeps100, internationally acclaimed beatboxer and vocal innovator who co-created one of the world’s first AI-driven ballet productions, and James Pett and Travis Clausen-Knight from PCK Dance, choreographers and movement directors exploring the intersection of dance, film, music and digital culture.

A conversation about why dance is becoming a testing ground for the future of human expression.
