Anna Diaz is a visual artist, creative director, and co-founder of the Barcelona-based studio Hamill Industries. Formed alongside her partner Pablo Barquin, the duo's artistic practice places experiential storytelling at the forefront, exploring the concept of the "expanded visual" to blur the boundaries between the digital and tangible realms.
Straddling the line between inventors and illusionists, Hamill Industries crafts highly sensory films, installations, and stage productions. Their transmedia flexibility is driven by extensive workshop research, where they develop state-of-the-art tools to support a pioneering vision that reimagines physical reality.
This commitment to challenging the technological and cultural landscape with a strong connection with science imagery, has earned the studio international recognition. The duo has designed the visual direction for Floating Points, created production design and visuals for San Francisco Ballet, and showcased their projects at renowned institutions and festivals worldwide, including ARS Electronica, 180 The Strand, Rewire and Sónar Festival.
Drawing from a strong academic background in avant-garde cinema and experimental video, Anna complements this extensive studio work with a personal dedication to education and international talks.
